How to apply

  1. Decide which country you will enter first. You apply through that country and must arrive there first.
  2. Apply online on the official portal: Uganda, Rwanda or Kenya.
  3. Upload your passport, photo and itinerary, pay US$100 and carry the approval with you.
  4. Leaving the three-country area (for example to Tanzania) usually ends the visa.

Separate visas instead

See the single-country rules for your passport: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda. British citizens get Rwanda free as Commonwealth citizens, which makes separate visas cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the East Africa Tourist Visa?

US$100. It is valid for 90 days and allows multiple entries between Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

Does it cover Tanzania?

No. Tanzania is not part of the scheme, so a Kenya and Tanzania safari still needs a separate Tanzania eVisa.

Where do I apply?

Through the immigration portal of the country you enter first: Uganda, Rwanda or Kenya. Your first entry must be into that country.

Is it cheaper than separate visas?

For Uganda (US$50) plus Rwanda (US$50) plus Kenya (eTA about US$32.50), it saves a little and removes two applications. For two countries only, compare prices first.
